We have a family friend getting out of a very messy marriage where the husband has exhibited violent behavior. Long story short, they have no money and a special needs daughter that will require care her whole life. They have no will and the husband supposedly has property assets that were received through an inheritance, but refuses to sell any of them to help the family.

Does anyone have a bulldog of a divorce lawyer that they would recommend to get her what she rightly deserves with experience in these kind of cases?

I've had multiple friends use Christina Tillinger. She's in Clear Lake, not sure if she goes into Houston, but at a minimum she'll be able to recommend someone

It's inheritance… he doesn't have to share it with the wife. It's his and solely his. The child(ren) would receive it whole as part of his estate when he passes.

Just be careful about how much energy and resources she uses to attempt to claw it away from him.

Without knowing more, it sounds like cutting the cord and good counseling would be a better use of time and resources.

As mentioned, if that property is inherited then the wife has no legal right to it. Sure, she can try and claw at it but that's gonna be real expensive and whatever she might get will be spent on legal fees.

Wasting money on a lawyer for a family with no money isn't a good use of resources.

Kick the fella to the curb and move on.
