Any luck lately on finding decent rates ? Been with Liere but my home policy isn't being renewed .

Harris County just sucks but hoping to find a broker to work with. Open to suggestions

Good luck. I've been with Liere forever and shopped around this year (renewal rates were in FU territory with HOA). Liere did find a better auto policy for us. Fortunately, I wasn't outright dropped as I couldn't find anybody else to write my home policy.

Who was your carrier? What part of town?

I went with Homesite by Progressive this year. I know they have bad reviews but their price for full replacement coverage was way lower than anything else I found. Had to dump Goosehead who told me the cheapest they could find was almost twice as much as what Homesite through Progressive quoted me. The hurricane deductible is 5% though.

I am currently with Safeco and Homeowner's of America through Goosehead. Safeco renewal is up like 20% and HOA renewal is up like 175%. After shopping, I was able to get quotes similar to my current policies through State Farm, Allstate (Chris Keith/basketball13 on TA), and Progressive/SageSure via Goosehead. Ultimately, I ended up booking Allstate through Chris. I would at the least reach out to him to see what he can do - ckeith@allstate.com

I shopped my umbrella recently because it was almost 4x the premium since I opened the policy a few years ago.

Wound up switching it from State Farm to Progressive and saving almost 50%. But the agent could not do better than what I am paying for auto and home, also with State Farm.

I don't know if they are writing new policies, but SF may be worth a quote.

State Farm's quote was about half what I am currently paying. Then the agent called back and said he was told he couldn't give me the policy. No new policies in our zip code. So that sucked.

Goosehead, Liere, Rollo are the three I have used to shop prices lately. Gooshead has found the best rates.

K Bo it was great working with you and I'm glad we could get those policies in place. I'd be glad to take a look at quotes for anyone else that is interested. I can only offer the Allstate option so I won't be able to shop the entire market, but we are very competitive in the Houston area and can offer a 1% wind/hail deductible. I left the broker world a few months ago and can say that the restrictions that carriers are placing for exposure management along with carriers pulling out of the market has really shrunk the options in the Houston area.

If anyone would like an Allstate quote, feel free to send me an email at ckeith@allstate.com.
