Does anyone have a good contact for installation of a Goalrilla basketball hoop? Located in Katy/Cinco Ranch.

I would use their installer. I paid $199 in April of 2020.

I did it myself in the dark on Christmas Eve as a Santa gift (dug the hole and set the anchors a few days in advance). Got the pole up then had to pay the yard guy to come help put the backboard on the next day because it weighs 1,000,000lbs. It wasn't that difficult to do all in all, but I also would not recommend it. For $199 let someone else jack with it all. If I hadn't been trying to have it up for Christmas morning, and still failed. But they are a great hoop, sturdy as a rock. Kids have loved it.

Thanks for the responses! We purchased the goal from a retailer, and for installation, they have you enter your information to receive quotes from third parties. Only received one response and it seemed sketchy. Also, I'm definitely not up to the task of installing myself!

I bought a hoops system from MegaSlamHoops. It's bullet proof and a beast!

Dug hole - recommended 4' deep by 20"x20"
Rented cement mixer
Purchased 17 bags of concrete
Mixed and poured
Came back a few days later and put everything in place with the help of my boys.

I don't see how anyone could do this for $199. MegaSlam had installers that ran over $400.

Anyways... digging holes suck.

I've had a Lifetime moveable one for 9 years. You can get nice ones that play pretty close to regulation.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

17 bags of concrete seems like a ton for a basketball hoop. Isn't that like 7 cuft of concrete?

I just installed a Spalding basketball goal, and I used 12-80 lb bags of concrete. Ten of them went into the hole (24" diameter x 2' deep), and 2 bags were poured into the pole per the instructions. I would agree that digging holes in Houston is the worst.

Off topic, but Pro Dunk came out with a crank adapter for a power drill to raise and lower the goal. It's totally worth it.

Just FYI I'm not aware of any part of Cinco that would allow a hoop without prior approval.

I had a megaslam that I installed myself and had the guys over to help hang the backboard. Definitely doable yourself. Save the $600 a co will charge and buy your guys a nice bottle of whiskey that you crack open when they miss the first layups. Also I didn't rent a mixer. Just used a wheelbarrow and a shovel mix method and worked just fine
