Got a ticket for, of all things, parking in front of a fire hydrant in downtown. I've never gotten a parking ticket before. Do I really have to pay this or can I just let it be assuming I don't get more tickets and end up owing the city more money?

Yes, you have to pay it. Do the crime, do the time. You don't pay it, you'll end up with an arrest warrant a couple of years from now. The city is that petty.

I had to bail a friend out of jail for unpaid CoH parking tickets after he found out he had a warrant during a traffic stop. He got to spend a night in lock up. It sounded like a nightmare.CDUB98 said:

You should have murdered someone. The bail bond would have been cheaper than the ticket. But both don't require any jail time here in Houston.
They are not going to boot or arrest you for one unpaid parking ticket, yall show up for jury duty too?
Pay the ticket then go do a grab & run at Lululemon. Make your money back selling the Lulu goods.

Do they really issue an arrest warrant for a parking ticket? In Galveston they pawn it off to some third rate law firm that threatens you with all kinds of stuff but nothing ever happens. I got a parking ticket back in 2009 or so and never paid it and nothing has ever happened besides those ridiculous letters from the third rate law firm.

I let a woman borrow my old, second car after Alison, and she ended up getting parking tickets and never told me.
Arrest warrants were sent to me via mail.
She also returned it with both the 3rd and 4th gear synchros farked.
Lesson learned the hard way.

Yea I knew they don't get you for the ticket but the failure, but I didn't think they even gave you a court date on them, just a fine. Imagine getting thrown in the clink for a parking ticket.

not sure how they could as it's a civil matter not criminal but in a city where murders, assaults, property theft go unsolved, criminal l cases get dismissed without ever investigating for a "lack of evidence" Ill take my chances on one unpaid parking ticket.Sea Speed said:
