Landry's plans water park at Kemah Boardwalk, starting with former Joe's Crab Shack conversion, filing says
According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Boardwalk owner Landry's Inc. plans to convert the two-story, 5,650-square-foot former Joe's Crab Shack at 7 Kemah Boardwalk Waterfront Drive into an entrance building for a new water park.

I am guessing this one will actually happen.

Maybe a big ass tube slide that dumps them out into the Kemah channel, except there is no way to get back in.

I havent' been to Kemah in forever.

I miss the old days when it was a gravel parking lot and the food was actually worth going there for. Jimmy Walkers, Clear Creek Inn, Joe Lee's, Flying Dutchman, etc.

How much space is there for an actual waterpark? I'm envisioning one mediocre water slide and a bunch of splash pads with Tilman charging $45 to get in.

Took my daughter and her friends down there in April for her b-day last year. This year they went to Pleasure Pier. Same story both places. Get there by noon, and get out by 8 before gets too wild. At least at Pleasure Pier you have to pay to get in. The Elissa was out in open water. Pretty cool.

Y'all should come back to Bolivar in the fall. Launch a boat off Yacht Club Road, surf fish.... I've been hitting the blue crabs hard this spring.

Maybe so. A lot of the families at our new school have second homes in Crystal Beach and we've been invited several times so haven't had to look at beach houses. We did Jamaica beach last year with the family we stayed at y'all's place with. One daughter caught a small bonnet head shark and the other caught a big ole black drum in the surf.

ETA: it was at least 10:1 other ethnicity to whites in kemah, and that area is about as likely white as it gets.

Nice (not the Kemah part). I was camping at Navasota on the Brazos several years ago. Waded out a little bit with my life jacket on of course - that's some of the scariest water on the planet. Totally brown, flowing hard, and I was holding on to a rock because you never know when you'll hit a moon crater. Looked down just as the biggest non-gar I'd ever seen in a river bumped into me and went on about his way. I'm guessing it was a drum. Must have been 20 lbs. Kids were like, we're done here.

I was walking across a rural flooded piney woods bridge going to a friend's property just to make sure I could get across it and a 4 foot gar swam in front of me at about a foot away. Very unexpected.

that would be ideal. The ratio of obese white women with a tattoo of Peter griffin on her foot will increase dramatically.

That sounds oddly specific

Grew up in League City. Back in the day at high tide when that area would be under water. We would play pool at the Barbary Coast (imagine the port bar in the movie Airplane), or go to Captain Up's club above Jimmy Walkers. Of course after paying a visit to Captain Okie's liquor in Clear Lake Shores for pre-gaming.
What do you boys want for breakfast BBQ ?.....OK Chili.
