I will say if you can afford it, a mosquito spray system around the perimeter of your house is the best investment I've ever made.

These Skeeter Screen Sticks work great! set up behind a fan and let it blow across your patio.

There's nothing I love more than sitting on my Houston back porch at dusk after week of summer rain.

I have been pleasantly surprised with how few there have been out here in our section of Cypress...until last night. Even wearing spray they were bad. Constantly bouncing off of us.

Was outside on the patio all weekend. I saw one mosquito.

Get a spray system. They seriously work

Recommendations? Cost?

Safe if kids play outside a lot in the afternoons/evenings?

Not necessarily directed at Rustys-Beef...would appreciate feedback from anyone with a system.

I used mosquitonix

Super friendly, quick install. It's about 3k to do complete coverage around my entire house and outdoor patio.

After that it's basically a cheap pool service fee, they come by once a week, test fix and refill as needed. Then they come and mothball middle of November until February.

It sprays at 6am , 6 pm and 9pm

And if I know I'm about to go out there I hit the remote to spray.

It's safe for kids and pets. Don't really want to be under it while it's spraying so we just come in for a minute.

It sprays for about 5-10 seconds.

I think the constant daily spraying keeps them at bay

I got myself a towable sprayer and hook it up to my zero turn and nuke my property with bifen.

You're welcome. Don't forget that you can mix your Tekko Pro with it.

Side note: I have a sneaking suspicion that this is why my zoysia looks like a golf course even though I do nothing but water it.

Tekko is the termite spray, correct? I can't keep them all straight.

For the lawn, I found some water soluble pre emergent granules I'll use for weed control going forward.

Wired a toggle switch that controls the sprayer. I think I got just over an acre with one tank. I honestly wish I had a slightly less powerful pump on there. Makes fast work of it.

Tekko kills the egg cycle. It's key for things like roaches, but I guess it also works for termites. I haven't seen a termite swarm for years. I suspect it doesn't matter a lot for mosquitoes because they are so transient, but if you have a roach problem, be sure to use the Tekko.

I just walk the yard with a pump up sprayer. You went full-blown Monsanto/Borlaug/ADM there.

We use the In2Care pods. Pest control company comes by once a month to service them.

That is an interesting system. how much does that cost?

Buckets themselves are like $50-75 per or so and then I pay $80/month during mosquito season for them to come change out 3 buckets. Doesn't cost them much on per unit basis so guessing could negotiate similar price even if needed more. I was paying $70/month for 2 originally.
