Leaving SA tomorrow around 1 heading to Galveston. How is the traffic from Katy down to Galveston? Other route? Eagle Lake to Sugar Land? I'm in no hurry. TIA

You'd have to pay me a good sum to drive 10 on 4th of July weekend. Get on 90 at Seguin and enjoy the small town scenery. If you can connect somewhere south to get over to Surfside and take the blue water highway to Galveston that is probably slightly less infuriating than 45.

I'd be pretty strongly tempted to take 90 to 6 down to Galveston, or 288 if you're not in a big rush.
