I have an elderly parent that has had medical complications and now has limited mobility. This was unexpected and I'm trying to become subject matter expert on all the options.

Parent is determined to try and avoid assisted living as long as possible…

Has anyone had successful home health journey? I'm about an hour away and cannot always drop everything to assist.

I'm struggling to see how this could be a sustainable option, hoping someone here can shed some light on if this is even a workable option.

Care needs are just assistance, no medical or memory care. Just transferring and daily life help.

Any feedback appreciated.

I'm no medical expert, I've only ever watched scrubs & a couple episodes of House but my suggestion is to talk to the nurse & ask for a social worker to assist with getting at home care. They (the social worker at the hospital) should be able to help.
