I don't have a Chron subscription (because why?) but my daughter sent this to me because she knows I really enjoy news about mismanagement or corruption by local officials. I'm sure they are involved in this somehow to avoid spending money to fix it, or they got the money to fix it and used it for something else.

During relatively dry spells like we are in now, almost ALL of the water flow into lake Conroe and Houston can be traced to runoff from municipal waste, including treated sewage. Colony Ridge and many other colonias are just upstream from Lake Houston. How often does TCEQ test the water going into Lake Houston, where the huge COH water plant takes it in?

To be fair, a lot of them throw their used toilet paper in the trash instead of flushing it.

I know they do that, but not sure how it is fair.

The sanitation infrastructure around Colony Ridge is terrible in general, so no matter how much **** is leaking out.
