First, I didn't go pheasant hunting. I was working on Saturday and took my mother to church on Sunday and then to town to eat and go shopping. So this is the few things I've heard from others.
It was pretty windy Saturday. My younger brother said that the less experienced pheasant hunters with him weren't leading the pheasants enough and weren't taking the wind into account when shooting.
The wind was much less on Sunday (the windmills on the state line were barely turning) and the hunters seemed to have a better time of it.
One local said that he saw more pheasants Saturday than all of last season. I don't know if he had any better luck hunting them in the wind.
My dog, Whiskey, hates the sound of gunfire. According to my sister in law, he spent the day on her front steps.
