Dish Network HD in the Panhandle

So, we live in between Lubbock and Amarillo and have HD satellite with Dish network.

Currently, we are receiving none of the network channels(abc, nbc, cbs, fox) in HD. Dish Network says that they are not offered in our area.

Even though our local stations may not broadcast in HD, I would think I still be able to get the primetime shows and sports games in HD.

Anyone else have this problem?

Are you getting Lubbock stations or Amarillo? We are on directv, and have to get our locals over-the-air. I thought the advantage to Dish was getting local channels via satellite.

Right now in Canyon, we can get channel 7 and 10 real well, 2 and 4 occasionally, and 14 never on the digital side. We get them all on analog, though 4 is sometimes weak.

We're down in a hole here, so that hurts us a bit.

we receive the amarillo stations(kvii, kfda, kcit....) over our satelite(but not in HD).

With suddenlink in college station, we get two sets of network channels, ones in HD and the regular ones. I figured it would be like that everywhere, including the panhandle

Freaky. We get the local HD over the Direct TV tuner, but they are coming in from the antennae, not the satellite dish.

Where are you, BTW? (its pretty obvious where I am)

Ahhh, Naz. I wonder how good the HD signal is right now. It might take a heck of an antennae to get a HD signal that far from Amarillo.
