Just figured I'd volunteer a little more about "me": I'm not a partier (but I do imbibe from time to time), I don't smoke at all, I'm mostly quiet (and will probably spend my evenings reading, grading papers, or watching TV). I won't have overnight guests, and I'll obey any rules set by the homeowner. I will supply my own food...and I fancy myself a pretty good cook!

I am more than willing to pay rent. Amount is negotiable.

I appreciate you thinking of this and if it doesn't work out, I still appreciate your efforts.

Also, what are some "bad" areas to stay away from? Are there particular areas that are zoned for "adult" purpuoses? I ask not b/c I want live there, but b/c I don't think it would be wise to live next door to a strip club.

suzyq, i might know someone. she's a coach in amarillo but does camps elsewhere over the summer. sometimes she keeps her house over the summer. i'll see if i can catch her. may take a few days - it is track season.

Do yall think it would be a good idea to email a church? I'm active in the Methodist Church in my hometown (or I guess, I used to be), and I go to a Methodist Church here. Its an alternative, but I guess I feel more comfortable getting recommendations from Aggies...weird.
