Someone busted my window mechanism of my car while it was parked on Broadway in Gruver last night (Sunday night).

They tried to pry the windows down. The window glass itself is okay, but the electric mechanism no longer works.

One of my brother's car was unlocked. He said he locked it Sunday afternoon and hadn't done anything with it since then. Don't know if anything was stolen, though.

We need to build a fence along the Texas/oklahoma border. That would put a stop to it.

From what I hear, it is believed they are Mexicans. And were armed.

They also busted out the windows in a van belonging to the woman who manages the Dairy Queen in Gruver.

I know people around here who will go out of town for a week or two at a time and leave their doors unlocked and their garage doors open.

One woman called me one day and said she couldn't get back to town as soon as she needed and asked if I could go let her dog out for a few minutes. So I went to her house and let the dog out to go water the lawn.

When I was putting him back in the house, a cat ran in the door. I chased that cat all over that house for a good half hour or more and never caught him.

I did finally get the cat cornered in a storage room and no chance of reaching back to get it without getting bitten or heavily scratched. So I closed the door to that room and called the woman on her cell phone and told her where she could find the cat.

I later found out that her high school aged son was in his bedroom taking a nap the whole time -- she thought he was out running around with his friends. That wouldn't have been too funny if he had thought I was a burglar before he got wide enough awake to recognize me.

Ahhh, Burglary of a Vehicle.....the legislature, in an effort to reduce prison overcrowding several years ago, reduced vehicle burglary from a felony to a misdemeanor.....so on the few times someone is caught, no jail time. Since then, there has been an huge uptick in this crime.

Starting to get pretty bad here in Spearman. A young group even got enough nads to break into my neighbors house and stole a purse out of his wife's tahoe. Same "group" possibly may have committed a rape last week.

I thought they had the meth problem in Spearman under control a few years back?

They must have it under control. After all, they took the antihistamines that actually work off the shelves. I'm rather ticked off that I can't buy Maximum Strength Allerest any more.

Doc,

is/was our former farmer involved? You know I don't think we have had anything stolen at our farm. I would think the meth head would be targeting the farms to get metals etc.

meth is and always will be a problem in these small towns. There are some local younger (19-24 year olds) and some illegals that are stirring up the pot.

There are problems in a lot of small towns and the law is doing the best they can to control it.
