Living in Lubbock the week before the A&M/Tech game is especially tough.

It hasn't been too bad for me at a company of 99% tech grads. There are some that are actually thinking it will be a closer game than we expect. I just tell them that they are crazy.

Sometimes I think I just enjoy pain. I lived in Lubbock for three years after finishing at A&M, then promptly moved to Austin.

there's a word for you: masochist.

are you goign to the game? All the masochists will be there.

I'd be interested in hearing how everyone is dealing with the week AFTER the game.

It is misery...plain and simple.

Suzy - just saw your post. I wasn't in CS because I'm such a masochist I actually went TO Lubbock this weekend. Seriously.

I did go to the game, but wasn't able to meet up with anyone this time.

I plan to NOT listen to any of the local sports talk shows until Thursday or Friday.

I have heard some stuff but I just let it fall off my back. There's nothing to get upset about. Our football program sucks and it isn't even a secret. It just amazes me that tech has a rough road coming up and they are still talking about a very mediocre A&M football program. But our athletic department as a whole is pretty damn good. It may not matter to them because they don't have anything but another 8-4 football team and no conference championship to brag about for another year.

Congrats, tech.

So when does basketball season and baseball season start again???

You know, I was very impressed with our play. I think our boys left it all on the field. Endurance and stamina needs work. Obviously we are weak in both O and D lines, but maturity and recruiting will fix that. JJ looks so COMFORTABLE under pressure. One tard was rushing straight for him and JJ just took his time and completed the pass. The majority of our standouts are true freshman recruited by Sherman. This bodes well.

Suzy I agree with all that you said. I look forward to each game and watching these young men grow.

I will say that my wife is a Raider and we have our moments during this time of year. She was ticked off at half time but stated that if there is even a little time on the clock she will put her money on the raiders.
she was right. I have to stop betting her on this game.

I do find it amusing that the local sports radio was defending the last touchdown and harrels antics but was crying about it just a few short years ago when tu hung points on them late.

I do not think it will happen but I will be rooting for tech to beat tu. The only thing better than that will be us beating them and being their spoiler.

I'm sure it has gotten easier now......or not!
