Mr. Soyars, a longtime San Marcos resident, has run a cattle business most of his life. He’s hunted in Africa, served in World War II as a pilot with the Army Air Corps and played football for Texas A&M. He played in the Southwest Conference Championship and in the Orange Bowl while on the A&M football team.
