It's downstream from Lubbock (I think) but LBB doesn't have that many heavy industries. Any idea from where the mercury came?

Look up. Most likely atmospheric deposition. Same for all the others, including Meredith.

Coal fired plants? Especially those in Mexico?

Atmospheric deposition is global. I'm not sure of where the plume from the Mexican plants goes. There are a lot of coal-fired plants in East Texas which some say accounts for the higher incidence of methyl mercury in fish in that region. Water chemistry is also a large part of the equation in that area.
