DNC
How long do you want to ignore this user?

--- were you talking about the one at 2200 E. Amarillo Blvd or the one at 1100 Ross as being "the place for DNC to eat Wednesday night"?

I think the Ama Blvd may be the original, but I'd go for the one on Ross Street. You probably don't want to be on the Boulevard at night.

Ross St. is the only location I've been to. I like the shrimp quesidillas, but there are lots of good selections.

If you save room for dessert, their sopapillas are different from any I've had elsewhere, but good.

But if you want the best Mexican food, go to El Tejevan (either location)

I agree with both comments. I was at the one on the blvd last week. It has a smaller menu--mainly for lunch. Tejevan is great. Go after work and have a go michilada and the plato de pastor. Also, we have an excellent thai/sushi place in Canyon now--The King and I. Its excellent and really excellent for Canyon.

Rocky Top, I assume you are a vol?

BLW- not a Vol, just a Tennessee gal. I graduated from UT-Martin (part of the UT system).

btw, the pastor plate at Tejevan is my favorite!

I'll have to try the Thai place in Canyon you mentioned.

Best Thai place in Canyon: Sayakomarn's on the SE corner of the courthouse square.

And I have no idea why we have five Asian restaurants in a Panhandle town of 12,000.

My experience since moving to this area is that white people from small towns really love Asian food. It's somewhat similar to white people and guitar music.

Or it could be we have a really large Asian population between WTAMU and the Vietnamese and Laotian boat people that Catholic Family Services brought to Amarillo.

I've been told that Perryton has really good Japanese and Mexican restaurants. Japanese because of the executives for the local Nippon-owned hog farms, Mexican for the laborers.
