I will be in Lubbock Thursday and Friday for an interview, and I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for something to do/ good place to eat in the area, maybe tech's version of the Chicken. Thanks

I should read the board a little before posting. I'm gonna check out the other thread. But if anyone has anything to add, I would appreciate it.
Ranching Heritage Museum at Tech is good. The Glider Museum at the airport is also worth a look.

The other thread has some good food suggestions. You need to eat a burger and have a cold beer at Blue Sky! It's the absolute BEST burger place.
As for night life, it depends on what you are after. The younger crowd goes to the Depot District, but school hasn't started yet so it might be a little slow. I like restaurant/bars like Stella's, Jazz and Las Brisas. The old Caprock Cafe at 34th and Indiana is kind of fun. The O-bar on Slide Road (Lone Star Oyster Bar) is also a good dive.
