holy cow, i coach in gruver and i have not heard one thing about this.

I just learned a bit more. It may just be a mistake.

He was in town a couple of days ago and the police pulled him over and checked him out. He apparently lives in another town in the area and was here selling ice cream out of the van. Since they didn't find anything when running checks on him, the police told him he couldn't sell ice cream without a city permit and then let him go. He reportedly came back to Gruver yesterday and got a permit.

The parents may have just had the wrong impression. He was just selling ice cream and there is probably nothing at all to worry about.

A little more. I talked to someone who knows him. It turns out that I've seen him around town on multiple occasions pushing his ice cream cart.

He's been selling ice cream around town for two or three years and there has never been any problems at all.

In all probability, the recent event is just an overreaction.
