Does anyone know at what hotel the men's Aggie basketball team usually stays when in Lubbock?

Also...restaurant recommendations in Lubbock (Mexican, hamburgers/onion rings, American, catfish/shrimp)

Not sure about the hotel.. I know the football team stayed at the holiday inn on avenue Q this year.

As for food...
For Mexican, Durangos at 50th and Frankford is always good. For burgers and the like, blue sky on 98th and Quaker is great.

I was going to advise you not to go to Lubbock. Then I looked and saw who the OP was. Your going.

Motelongo's out on the Clovis Highway is great Mexican.

The "Oyster Bar" on 34th has good seafood. But it is more of a bar and is smoky. There is one on Slide across from the mall, but not as good food.

Cagles on Utopia for Steaks.

Pete's Drive in for Hamburgers.

Tom and Bingo's for BBQ on 34th.

Just go beat the Raiders and grab McDonald's on your way out of town to stay the night somewhere else.

Go to Cagle's and get a steak. That is the only thing I miss about trips to Lubbock.

There is a really nice newer American owned hotel on the West Loop by Lowe's. It is called the Arbor Inn and Suites. Super nice guy owns it and runs it. Free breakfast in the morning and hot chocolate chip cookies and lemonade in the afternoon. I stayed there when my was in the hospital. We live 100 mi from Lubbock.

Riversmith's is okay for catfish. University south of 82nd, or Ave Q near 4th. Ditto above on Durangos and Montelongos. The calabaza at Montelongos is awesome. Ruby Tequila is also pretty good Mexican food.

I really like CapRock Cafe for general American food (and drinks). Really good variety, and very tasty. Located at 82nd and Slide.

If you have any interest in history at all I would go see the Ranching Heritage Center and the Tech Museum. Both really cool places
