Howdy Panhandle Ags,

I'm looking at buying a boat in the Amarillo area, but I'd like to take it to a marine shop in the area to have them review it prior to purchase if I have any doubts on my initial inspection. I'm coming from the Austin area, so I'm not familiar with any of the shops in your neck of the woods. A quick Google search only yields Jack's Marine and Elite Marine in Amarillo.

Is anyone aware of other marine mechanics in the area that would be willing to give a boat a 1-2 hour inspection with me? Boat is a late 80’s Correct Craft inboard, so pretty basic, but this will be my first boat purchase other than tagging along with the old man to buy his last boat.

Thanks in advance.

Been a very long time since I messed with them, but Jack's was just fine with me. Sorry, no current experience.

I appreciate the comment Canyon.

I was hoping to be able to run and take a look and have the boat inspected yesterday morning before I left the Odessa area, but all of the late flights home were booked and I ran out of time. Now I'm trying to find time to make the 6.5 drive since there don't seem to be any decent methods to tow a boat home besides a u-haul box truck.

If it would help, I could look at it, take some pics, or park it out at the farm if you don't mind it being outside.

Assuming it is a reasonable distance from 79015.

Canyon, thanks for the offer - the boat is in Hereford. I'll be sure to keep that in mind if the need arrises.
