Any recommendations or warnings? Would be for a Honda.

I'll warn you against J's transmission on Rusk street. Rebuilt a chevy PU transmission. Wasn't right, and tried to void my warranty because I drove my 4WD pickup in the mud.

I took my Ford Explorer to Panhandle Transmissions at the recommendation of my regular mechanic. He identified the problem from our phone conversation while other places including the dealership were wanting to charge me just to drop and diagnose it. He was able to rebuild the transmission which saved us a lot of money. He also called me after completing the work and told me he was breaking it back down free of charge because he didn't like the way it was handling. I think he put a 1 or 2 year warranty on it also. I'm not sure if he works on foreign transmissions but it might be worth the call.

From talking to them, the ones I like best seem to be Circle4 and G&M Farnsworth, though the latter are $500+ higher than anyone else.

Will call the guys you recommend Monday and see.

Any good/bad on the two above appreciated as well.

S&S has been good to my family. We've used them for 15+ years. The guys name is Sun. He has always been very honest about conditions and options. Top quality work. He rebuilt a tranny for my 87 turbo Regal and it is super strong.
Also like Carlson.
