Any recommendations either positive or negative for farm auction companies in the Amarillo to Lubbock area? Looking to sell some antique tractors in a few months.

Thanks.

If you don't mind it not being an absolutely local auction, let me know. I work for the largest global equipment auction company, though I sell IBM servers and storage. Opens your items up to a global buyer base...

CATAG on the auto forum works there too, for what it's worth.

Email or PM for more info.

I may give you a shout. Honestly, we don't know how to jump. We're only talking about 20 tractors unless we can convince others to bring in theirs as well. We're not selling any modern farm equipment. Also wondering if we should give it enough lead time to advertise in some of the national tractor collector magazines.

Also would love to hold the sale where the tractors are. Assiter's is a big name near me, but is 75 miles from where the tractors are, so not much fun to transport them.

I went to this Alliance Auctioneers auction in Perryton last summer. I bet 30-40% of the stuff sold to internet bidders during the auction. Good for the sellers but kinda sucked as a buyer - no good deals to be had. Their internet marketing must be pretty good.

High Plains Auctioneers also has internet bidding during the sale but not nearly as much competition for the local buyers.

We work for Ritchie Bros.

I haven't been in the equipment or ag business in a long while in our company, but I doubt they would have any problems selling the auctions from where they sit. That actually was our preferred business model prior to being acquired by RBA. Things might have changed, but since we don't have an RBA location closer than Denver or DFW, you'd probably be able to work with to provide photos and condition reports and get started.

Assigner is a good name, similar in style, though not size, to RBA's core business.

If you want to poke around a bit, visit the new site just launched in the last two weeks.

Best of luck. That's a cool collection.

We lost my grandmother on Christmas Day of the same year or maybe one year earlier. I can't recall for sure. Lost another grandfather and an uncle (father and son) on Christmas Day 25-30 years ago, but not in the same year. Christmas is supposedly one of the busiest days that people get called home. I'm sorry for your loss.
