Snowing like a SOB around Dumas/Etter. This is going to get hairy it seems. How is it in other areas of the Panhandle tonight?

NW side of Amarillo.

This is our first blizzard as a family and we are enjoying years time with the kids. 3-4 ft drifts in my backyard and driveway.

I suspect schools will be closed again tomorrow due to the sheer volume of snow.

NW Amarillo here as well...Blizzard got me and the kiddo a snow day so I'm happy. Bout a 5ft drift on the side of my house currently. I can't imagine being stuck out in this.

Cleared my driveway this morning. May have to do it again this afternoon. Snow blower was the best thing I've bought in the last 10 years. You may only use it once or twice a year, but it's worth it when you have elderly people around you who also need their driveway cleared. I did three driveways in 40 minutes.

The wind is still at 30mph, why bother clearing?

And our driveway is E-W and bare.

Mine had 4-6 inches on it. Hopefully the wind will keep it somewhat cleared.

Not much open in Gruver today. The lumber yard opened at their usual time. The grocery store doesn't look like it has opened at all, but I could be wrong.

I'm wondering whether to fix myself something to eat or go out and see if there is anywhere to eat (except Dairy Queen) that is open.

School in Gruver cancelled for a second day. I think the reasoning is that most people can't get out of their driveways due to the snow drifts.

Been shuffling flights into AMA since Sunday. Was boarded, about to pull away from the gate this morning when they decided to cancel the flight. Apparently AMA airport employees can't get to the airport to run the operation.

We just re booked for Thursday, should be good to go by then. Hope there is still a bit of snow on the ground by then for my kid to play in.

There's lots of snow left, but I'm not sure it will be play quality, depending on where you'll be.

Pampa, Tx here. I moved up here in August from Central Texas and that was like nothing I've ever seen in person.

The mail carriers in Felt, Oklahoma reportedly didn't deliver mail on Monday and Tuesday of the blizzard even though they received no snow at all.

The problem was that the mail trucks to Felt come from places that were snowed in and so the mail trucks weren't running.

So they had no mail because of a blizzard even though it didn't snow.

By the way, snow removal on the streets of Gruver went very well. Not only was the city removing snow, but several locals took their own tractors out and helped.
