Any must haves off the menu or wine list?
quote:+ Steaks/Salad Bar: Cattle Baron
Good place. My suggestions for Lubbock:
Steaks - Double Nickel and Las Brisas
Burgers - Blue Sky Texas
Mexican Food - Garcia's
Italian - Stella's or Orlando's
Other local favorite - Jazz (cajun food)

there are several better burgers than blue sky

Haven't found one yet! Blue Sky has been voted Lubbock's best burger every year since opening. Same story in Amarillo. I haven't found any Lubbock burger place as good. I do like Coyote Bluff in Amarillo, but Blue Sky is the best!
quote:I happen to know the partners. The owners are good people. I sent you a private message because I heard about this incident from one of the partners. I don't think it is fair to bash a fast casual theme restaurant for not putting the sound on for a particular game. It's not a sports bar. My guess is Chili's, Red Robin, Twisted Root, etc. would not have turned the music off and turned on the sound to a game not involving Tech either. Hard to fault them for that at a Lubbock, TX location.
After refusing to turn the sound on for the Aggie/Hog game, and the smart manager kid who stated that it was "policy" to not have any sound except for tard games, I will never set foot in Blue Sky again. They let 20 Ags walk out the door over that debacle. I know it did not hurt them, but Lubbock has no shortage of places to get a burger. Spanky,s, Twisted Root, Buns and others can have my dollar.

Coyote Bluff beats it, no doubt. It's a distant second and maybe even third or at least tied at second with Cecil's over on 287.
