I was talking to someone today about cooking pork. And they were asking why there is so little pork dishes in Texas. Well that is an easy answer. Oh, and I was in Kansas City eating BBQ at the time.
I told him a story about the old "White Pig Drive Ins". My father who was a great cook and ate beef every day of his life loved the "White Pig".
I was pretty young but I remember going and Daddy getting really excited. I also remember the mayo mixture running down my arms and getting in trouble for it falling on my mother's car upholstery.
Does anyone recall these restaurants? I know that there was at least one maybe two in Amarillo and one in Lubbock.
It was a sad day in my father's life when they closed.
