I would like to find a decent dove hunting place within 30 miles of Lubbock. Willing to pay some, but not looking for anything beyond dove.

been looking for the same thing. the only thing i can find other than guided hunts are the public fields. i was excited when i saw some public spots were reasonably close, but the two that i have been out to are shoulder high weeds. i was really hoping they would be leased ag fields.

The best thing that I can tell you to do is go knock on doors. Most farmers will let you hunt their fields so long as you take care of them (ie: pick up your shells and trash). Within 30 minutes of Lubbock might be tough as most of those fields are probably already leased or claimed. If you're willing to travel about 45 minutes to an hour, I'd bet you can find something.

i ran across the gentleman who handles all the public land leasing for the area. he pointed me to the Pride Cemetery site south of lubbock (about 45 min). Im checking it out in the morning, hopefully its worth the 1.5 hour drive for me
