It seems that every time Joe Lombard and the Canyon Lady Eagles take the basketball court, there's a history lesson, or at the very least, a philosophical lesson to be learned.
This all came together in Saturday's girls championship game of the AMA TechTel Kids Inc. Tournament of Champions at First United Bank Center. Not only did Lombard and Canyon win another tournament title textbook fashion by beating Bushland 63-39, he picked up his 1,000th victory at Canyon by beating a former protege.
Oh, and by the way, the Lady Eagles stayed undefeated on the season at 9-0.
