Is this place still open. My family is going to the area a couple of times to hunt and was wandering if this place was open and as good as it was years ago.

Pretty sure it is. It's probably been a year since I've been there, but it was unchanged then.

If you're through Amarillo try Tacos Garcia or in Canyon Pepitos or Feldmans.

At El Camino, it's the Chile Rellenos I like.

I will not make it up to Amarillo. We will be hunting in the Kress - Edmonson area in in Swisher and may hit some areas in Hale County. I live in El Paso right now and can't wait to get some decent Mexican food. Ironic, isn't it?

I was born in Tulia. It is the story in my family that my mother ate at El Camino before she went into labor in 1966 with me.

If you have time, stop by Keeters and get some German sausage. It will be worth your time.

I was born in Tulia as well, but did not hang around long. We probably had the same doctor pull us out.

I'm jealous, Obejuan03. Living in El Paso means that you have unlimited access to Chico's Tacos, which is probably my favorite part of going to El Paso.

If you want to take a little drive from Tulia for the best chicken fried steak in the Panhandle, head out to Vigo Park to Ms Mac's. It's a little gray shack behind the Methodist Church. Make sure to get a glass of her sweet tea - and dress warm, the wind blows through that building.
