any ideas on where i can take my girlfriend for our anniversary this saturday? we live in lubbock and i need a dinner place or ideas for some stuff to do around here. i haven't been here very long and i want to make it special so i don't want to screw up. any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've always liked Stellas and Gardski's for dates. Nice places, good food.

If you want something a little unique, there are two french restaurants in town. Chez Suzette (on 50th) always gets good reviews and I thought the food was great. I recently ate at the Frenchman Inn (on 19th) and thought it was even better. I think Frenchman Inn is cheaper and you can take your own wine. It's a dump from the outside but its a little better on the inside.

The Wine and Clay Festival is happening at the Llano Winery this weekend from 10 - 5 on Saturday. They will have all of their wines available for drinks by the glass and have a couple of food vendors, and it will be nice to browse the pottery vendors. They will have a port and chocolate tasting Saturday at 2. That could make a good pre-date trip.

Also, for a light dinner, wine and entertainment (usually a jazzy singer) check out La Diosa in the Depot District.

I agree with Stella's and Gardski's. Both are great places to take a girl for a quiet dinner. After dinner, I would suggest the Gaslight if you want to have a couple of drinks, it's located just north of the mall.

The Gaslight is a swinger bar.

I thought Buffalo Wild Wings was the swingers hangout in Lubbock.

I'd take her to Alibates or Amarillo or at least as far as Canyon/Palo Duro for a nice date...
