You know, there ain't nothin' west of I-35, so the WT forum qualifies as waste land....

I had taken my Irish kinfolk on a tour of a large ranch south east of San Angelo. It has running creeks, nice hills, lots of oaks (and Mesquite), a beautiful edge of the hill country ranch with tons of deer. And all they asked at the end of the tour was "just what do you do with all of this 'waste' land?"

LOL

Guess it is all in your perspective!

Live east of I-35, but have to have a clear view of the landscape at all times. Bought a farm with no trees, does that tell something about this former west Texan?

BrenTex- I do enjoy seeing the open spaces when I get back to Tejas, after seeing the sun always go down over hills and trees here in TN and not having the WT sunsets over the Twin Buttes.

But, even with the rain WT got this year, I still cannot get out of my head how Brown everything is once you turn off of I-20 at exit 330 to head down to Angelo.

And the land west of Angelo, it is just a frickin' desert. At times I think I want to end up around Kerrville or back up towards Angelo, but man, the temps, dryness and baroness(sp)makes me wonder. I love to visit my friends I miss, but I am afraid I am falling into the trap all the Ag's I met at my first Muster here in Chattanooga back in '05 that said if I lived here 10 years, I wouldn't go back..... Well, I am starting my 4th year and I now understand what they told me.

What really confuses me is that I always watch Texas Country Reporter on RFD TV on the dish and I know I miss alot of what I see, but I don't want it all the time. Guess I will just have to be a nomad in the motorhome when we retire and then end up near CLL when I am too old to commute for football games.

Just pondering things at the start of a new year. Them 37 years I lived in Angelo still make me love Texas and of course the 4 years at A&M secured that love. [/ramblings of an old fart over]

[/start ramblings] Did you ever notice at the apartments while at A&M, there would always be west Texans on the porches watching it rain? That was always a good reason to get a beer and meditate.

I am lucky my work takes me to many different states, so for half the year I am in the motorhome and therefore coming home is like a visit home. Worst thing is being away during football season. Getting tired of giving tickets away. [/end ramblings]

Zone is good to take my unused tickets and my RV neighbor in Penberthy takes unused RV spot.

If you could get you travel schedule flipped it sounds like it could be a good deal.
