First off I want to thank everybody that provided me with input for a facility. I am now looking for a Catering company that would be good to use for the reception. I would love to find an Aggie owned operation if possible. But if not I would love to hear peoples opinions of places in both Midland, Odessa, and San Angelo.

Joe Allen's out of Abilene. They used to cater parties out at Lambshead (near Albany) all the time, so I know they have the ability to travel with their pits. Good BBQ and absolute heaven when you go with ribeyes.

Odessa:

The restaurant itself is a generic 24 hour come-after-the-bars-close type of place, but their catering service is great. I have never had more compliments on any event's food then when these guys did the job. I used these guys on a business after hours reception co-hosted by the Odessa Chamber of Commerce, and they received rave reviews.

Trina at La Margarita 432*335*0848

Trina does a TON of catering in the area, and does a good job. My family has known her for years, and I would definately give her food a thumbs up.

Tracey Ragland 806*445*6873

Tracey just finished a catering job at Christmas for me, and did excellent work. She runs out of her home kitchen, but was able to prepare an extensive menu for 100 (there was probably food for more like 200 people). Had a good variety of foods and desserts she could prepare.

If you go the bbq route as the above poster suggested, Jack Jordan's or Johnny's would make acceptable choices. I'll try to dig up phone numbers so you can contact these folks.

Midland:

I don't have much experience in working with Midland caterers, but a few you might try are Clear Springs Cafe, Brooks BBQ, Johnny's BBQ, Murray's Deli, Prescott's, and if Southern Velle does any catering, that would be a great choice.

For Angelo, Kenny Blanek's can't be beat.

I second Kenny Blanek. Did my cousins wedding last May. Good stuff...

Kenny's awesome, plus his girls are Aggies! He may be an Ag as well, I'm not sure. I know he & his wife come to CS quite often for activities.
