I just started a job in Sanderson. I did not realize you could not even pick up a radio station down there. It seems to be a friendly little town, with a selection of restaurants. You can have hamburgers, pizza or mexican food. One sells cold adult beverages and the rest are BYOB. I asked about a printer cable at one of the local establishments and was told to go to the Post Office and look on the Bulletin Board. I thought that was kinda neat.

I purchased 26 mother cows with month old calves from a rancher in Sanderson once back in the late 70's. The price was right. Good thing I had a 7 foot high fence on my coral.

I do not believe any one of those cows had actually seen a human being prior to that sale.

One jumped the coral fence and ended up several ranches away. That rancher was nice enough to call me when each years calf was ready to wean. Never could get her in a coral again.

Beware of cowboys with a good deal on a bunch of cows!

We used to beat the heck out of Sanderson in football back in the day. That was one long drive for a football game.

Wow, just wow! I lived in Sanderson from '75-'79 and didn't think I would ever live to hear anyone say they ever lived there. Our closest neighbor was 50 yards away, we had a fort made out of railroad ties, used to go swimming in a water tank down the road and could see stars to the horizon just about every night. Our great dane was shot by a "neighbor" with a .22, but miraculously survived. It was great to be a kid there, just can't imagine what it's like now.

Its all about peace, love and unity.
