The mountains are the only things I miss about that sheet town.

Oh how I miss west Texas. Wide open spaces, no traffic, and the most beautiful sunsets in the world!

I've got a cool picture of the sun setting on west Texas through our rearview mirror when we moved last year.

I can't wait to move back to Midland. The sunsets and brisk evening air were wonderful.

The sunsets are they only pretty thing about that country.

The pictures of the West Texas sunsets are beautiful. I am not a native, but my wife is a Permian graduate, born in Midland and raised in Odessa. I used to think that this was an ugly place, but after raising my childre here and living here for the past 30 years, I have found that it has a beauty all its own. Not only thatk, some of the best people live out here in West Texas. Heck, being a native Texan, there really isn't a bad place in Texas because it's God's country.

I am not a native WEST Texan but am a native Texan.

I could have stayed in Houston Area and had to live with Chronic Bronchitis and a 3-4 hour commute to/from work everyday.

Or live in dry West Texas with minor allergies and where the distance in miles is measure by a minute each mile.

YMMV!

I was born in west texas and love every part of it. The land, culture and people are just one of a kind. All of the above pictures are very nice and remind me of why I love to call West Texas home.

I am the same way about West Texas as most of you seem to be. The people who think that areas with only green are beautiful are missing a lot of fantastic scenery and views. Besides West Texas IS more friendly just because it may have been days since you have seen another person. LOL

West Texas-- where people worry about you if you don't wave when you pass them on the highway.

well it was weird. it was in san angelo and to the north (Abilene) it was dark and lightning (no rain I think). And the mushroom clouds were to the northwest out at Grape Creek and Sterling City, Looked like some weird sort of thermal shift that was causing the clouds to rise like that. Pretty freaky.

last night i was driving somewhere in San Angelo on College Hills and hit the nice little split at the Vista Del Arroya and saw a gorgeous sunset. Sometimes I really want to leave this place, but things like that keep me here.

I’ve spent most of my adult life swearing I would never go back. Now that I want to get back – I can’t find decent work.

I am from Odessa and the two things I REALLY miss about West Texas are the sunsets and the wind. I try to plan my trips home so that I am always driving into the sunset. Although my husband thinks it is a pain I truely enjoy every minute of a beautiful West Texas Sunset.

Enjoyed the wind over Christmas at Garden City.
It was cold just because of the wind, but it was "normal" and it is what it is.

Other than that it was great to be in west Texas for a few days.
