I just moved from Houston to El Paso about a month ago. Where do normal people go on a Friday/Saturday night?

Boys Town in Juarez or Cincinatti St.

pauley - stay away from juarez for a while - things are a bit crazy there right now. snapper is right about cincinnati street, though. you'll find a handful of places to go there - it's a good starting point. i guess you would need to provide a bit more for more ideas - age, interests, etc.

What side of town do you live on?

For the westside:
If I were you I would start off at Carlos & Mickeys for beer or margaritas then head to The Garage Tequila Bar, on Mesa, then down to Cincinatti.

For the eastside:
Stay at home, its not worth the risk of getting shot.

yeah, this is getting a little weird! hit up cincinnati on a friday night. you should also give aceitunas a shot - gets kinda crazy on a thursday night when the weather's nice...

Right next to aceitunas is a place called The Riviera. On Monday nights they have Taco night. Its not to be missed.

Fish the Rio Grande, you can catch some big ones in there.

much like pauley, I am a houstonian transplanted in el paso except only for a couple of weeks. Is the state line bbq a good place to go for the live music on wednesdays? I have been to the county line concerts in san antonio and they were always fun. Just wondering about the state line out here in el paso.

State Line has excellent food, however, I know nothing about their music venue(s).

The live music scene is much different in El Paso than it is in San Antonio. But, you never know, there could very well be a mariachi.
