Wife and I are going to the Gage for several days in August. I had planned on driving but Amtrak is close in cost, compared to gas, and time of travel. I have found car rentals in Alpine but does anyone know of a taxi service from either Sanderson or Alpine to Marathon? tia

I had never seen a taxi cab in Alpine or Sanderson the four years I was there. A rental might be the best way to go, especially if you plan on wanting to see the surrounding areas.

We did the Marathon/BBNP/Marfa/Ft. Davis circuit last year and the rib just wanted to veg at the Gage this year. We may have to rent a car but it seems a waste. I guess we could drive down to the Stillwell Strore and take some pics. We have a dog named after Hallie Stillwell.

The Gage is a great place to get away from it all. My wife & I have stayed there 5-6 times the past few summers.
