Hey, my sister in law was just accepted into Texas Tech Pharmacy school in Abilene. She has never been to the city, but now has to find an apartment in the next few weeks! She is looking to spend about $400 a person and would be willing to have a roommate. Anybody know of some good apartments in a safe area near the school?

the pharm school is on the northside beside Hendrick Medical Center. The closest apartment complexes are out on North Judge Ely Blvd and are not where I'd want to live. Just my opinion, but I've seen enough trouble at all of them to know I would look south.

You can get anywhere in Abilene in 15 mins or less. There is no rush hour. Tell her to look along Ridgemont Drive or any of the complexes west of the Mall. There is a new complex being built by Academy Sporting Goods, on Cedar Run Drive and its supposed to open this summer. And the complexes on the southside are closer to everything but the school.

if one of the apartments don't fit, call Mike at Gerard Real Estate - they manage a bunch of rental properties and I think do a great job.

I've never been in one of the apartments, but they are supposed to be nice, they've restored one of the 1930's downtown hotels into apartments

You don't want to live on the North side of Abilene.

there are some very nice neighborhoods all over north Abilene. Its just that the better apartment complexes are on the southside.
