Abilene High kids welcome Ft Worth kids to "our" style of West Texas football. Game last night in Fort Worth Abilene High had 474 yards and scored on 12 of 13 possessions. 11 touchdowns and 1 field goal - that equals 81 points - Paschal got a total of 70 yards and kicked one field goal...

final score 81-3

I was in Burleson last week and heard a couple of their guys complaining about having to drive "so far" to get out here. The other guy then says, "yeah, and thats a long damn way to go get your butt kicked."

We are missing our Midland and Odessa friends,

It is not right not having the Abilene schools still aligned with Midland and Odessa. It is weird playing against the Lubbock and Amarillo schools-no history there. I say pull Abilene back in the fold and let Lubbock and Amarillo go to the Fort Worth area. I know it is not feasible, just a wish. I miss the ole "Little Southwest Conference"!!

you can blame the begin of the demise on San Angelo's refusal to allow Lake View to be brought up to 5A status. That open date in there w/ the unequal districts is what led to the eventual move from them. SAISD treats Lake View like the step child in town on a regular basis and it come back to bit them in the butt often.

jags, was a similiar attempt made to keep Grape Creek down? Wylie used to play them alot, and it looked like they were on the way up. Then all of the sudden they dropped to 2A and we never heard much more out of them. Alot of fans from there would complain about SAISD back then....I miss the trips to San Angelo...
