I was born here.
Raised here.
Went to college at ASU here.
Worked my first three years out of college here.

And now I'm leaving.

A few years back I couldn't wait to get out of San Angelo, but now that it's a reality, I'm really kinda sad.

But you are going to be near a bunch of t-shirt sips and baylor fans. That ought to be fun.

Hope they are paying you well.

Also, it is only 4 hours in a car from home, so that should make it better.

Good luck.

Go down to the Wesphalia area for the Church of Visitation Fall Picnic, many of the folks at Wall came from Weshpalia. It will make you almost feel like home. Although they don't come across as quite as friendly as the West Texans. They still are friendly, it just takes a little longer.

Good Luck to you. It was hard for me to leave also, but there is a whole new world out here. Take each area on its own merits. As for the desert areas of Texas, I enjoy them also, you just have to understand the area you are in. There is a lot of beauty in this State.

that's the truth. my current job has me traveling everywhere from brownwood to nueces canyon and comstock.

I've seen a lot of beauty that this part of the state has to offer. I used to hate it and just see it as desert, but I've learned the beauty of it in the last year or so.

that being said. i want to live around green.

That's not a knock on the Military at all. I apologize if it came of that way. The best man in my wedding is at Fort Hood. I've just always heard that in the Kileen area "if you ain't military, you ain't ****." all that i meant by that. Nothing but respect for our service men and women there.

i support technology at school districts throughout the region. Comstock is surprisingly NOT our most remote school.

c-jags, You work for the Reg XV?

If you probably know my wife as she worked there until Nov of '06- Autism specialist.

Heck yes I know your wife!!! I had to think about that for about 20 seconds before it clicked.

Yes, I started here about 3 months before she left.

She was the lone aggie i got to celebrate with during the '06 season. never got to talk to her about t+1 that year though

You leaving to Tenn and her coming up after you makes perfect sense.

I'd agree somewhat. It may be flat in West Texas like is is in the Waco/Temple area (to a degree), but at least West Texas has character. Central Texas is too vanilla for me.

I was gone for 12 years, missed it the whole time. You'll most likely be back...

wouldn't rule it out for one second. i imagine we may be back later on. but i need to get out of here for a while. 25 years inside tom green country is great, but there's more for me to see right now.
