A friend of mine was just served papers by his estranged wife. She is apparently in Big Springs but has hired an attorney out of Midland. He is here in Houston.

This will be a contested divorce and she is trying to keep him from getting visitation, so custody battle may be an issue (don't know for sure).

I'd also recommend Terri Motl out of SA. not that i know if she's better than Johnson, but I've heard good things. I have dibs if my marriage goes south.

I am an attorney in that area but do not do that type work. Terri Motl is good. Also Tip Hargrove in San Angelo is very good. He is the one I used. Several lawyers use Tip. That says something. JW is not someone I would recommend. If the divorce is in Big Spring try Kenny Maxwell from Sweetwater.

Depends on who the attorney is in Midland. That is the biggest factor.

The Judge will be Robert Moore, if it is filed in Big Spring. A very good attorney in Big Spring that does a lot of divorces is Robert Miller. He knows Judge Moore's tendancies. He just represented one of my employees in a divorce case. He is very good at maintaining custody rights if the father is worth his salt. Judge Moore is pro mother, but he doesn't buy into the high drama BS. He also doesn't buy into the big city slick attorneys. I go to church with him and he has strong religous values, so keep that in mind. However, don't think a little Jesus time will save him right now if that is not the way he/they have been living. Sorry for your friend. Maybe this will help. If your friend needs any more info, send me an email at fuzzyfan at crcom dot net.

Didn't Robert Miller bring a paternity suit to the Supreme Court one time?

Yes. He had a father who was paying child support for a house full of kids and they weren't his. He lost the case because the Court said the father had raised them as his children and it was akin to adoption. One of my friends was married to this woman during the trial. My buddy treated those kids (3 boys and girl) like they were his, but she was not content with one man. Good sex was not enough to keep him interested, when she was spreading it around.

I hate that precedence (do what's best for the kids)

i understand it and it makes sense, but it screws over somebody for the sake of the others' lies.

if it happened to me i'd just quit my job and let them take me to jail.
