Hey everyone. I just wanted to drop a line on this board. I graduated from law school back in May and passed the Bar exam in November. I am currently living in Midland, but working further out west as a petroleum landman doing title work. My legal background has been mostly in employment law, personal injury, and various other sorts of civil and commercial litigation.

I enjoy doing what I am doing, but there have been several layoffs at our place already, and I am worried that more are around the corner. I am not in a hurry to go anywhere, but I wanted to ask the board to keep an ear open for legal job openings or in-house type positions in the Midland area. Please PM me if you have any details or questions.

I grew up in Midland and West Texas. Great area and lots on good people in Midland. I do have Midland and West Texas withdrawals on occasion. Hope to hit town in the next few months to get my fix.

Thanks for the reply. I grew up in the area and I am glad I have had the chance to get back. While ideally I would like to get into practicing law in Midland, I am open to doing other things where a law degree would be useful. That is essentially how I got into this job.

Last bump. We had another round of layoffs this past week. We are down from around 30 people down to seven. I am really not sure how much longer this project is going to last.
