Im looking to find out what the top 5 high schools are in the West Texas area that send the most kids to A&M.

Meaning.. which 5 schools in this area have the most kids go to Texas A&M after high school.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know exact specifics, but I graduated from Lee in 2005, and from my graduating class of about 650, we had about 30-40 go to A&M.

I'd say the same is probably about true of Midland High, but I wouldn't swear to it.

A majority of my graduating class that did go to college ended up at Tech.

You should get in touch with the local A&M Club chapters and contact high school counselors.

Are you familiar with the area?

Same boat here.

Graduated from Lee in 2001, out of the 690, probably 50 or so went to A&M. Majority go to Tech though.

By percentage, or total number? Some of the smaller schools might send 1/4 to 1/2 of their kids...

The 5 biggest 5A schools will have the highest number going to A&M is my guess...

Wow, I can't believe Lee sends so many to A&M. I graduated from San Angelo Central in 2007 and I would say we had roughly 15 (and that's a push) in my class that attend A&M.

Edit: My graduating class was around 700.

In my graduating class of 47 we had 4 go to A&M. However, considering we only had about 20 total that went to college, that's a pretty good number.

If it is a percentage question, Wall outside of Angelo always sends a bunch. Used to sit in on the scholly interviews and from a class of, I don't know, 80? maybe 8-10 were going to A&M.

And they were smart very active kids. They always ran rings around the big school kids.

Correct, My class of 57 at Wall had 7 Go to A&M. 1 to tu, and 3 or 4 to tceh. Another 10 or so went to ASU. That Carr scholarship was tempting, but I made the right choice...

My class of 46 had 3 that went to A&M. Most went to ASU or ACU. A couple went to Tech.

I graduated San angelo Central in '91. At least half of the top 10% went on to graduate from A&M. ANd even more than that attended at least for a while. I felt like I was prepared for A&M pretty well, but that was long ago.

I graduated from Midland High in '05. I think we had 30 something come to A&M, about the same go go to UT, and 100ish at Tech.

The Mighty Wall Hawk class of 1970 with 22 students sent 4.5% of those students to AM. That equaled to just me.

The 1969 class sent 4
the 1968 class sent 3
the 1967 class sent 3+ or -

Midland Classical Academy class of 2009 had about 20 graduates, with 7-8 going to A&M this fall. More to follow after one year of Midland College.
None to tu.

class of 02 sent about 6-7.

Tech has sadly become where more of Wall students go these days.

Don't come to El Paso then. Aggies are pretty much frowned upon. We would be lucky if 50 each year across the city go to A&M. I think 3 or 4 from my grad class of 450 went to A&M, that I know about at least. That was at Coronado. Amazing high school, great academics, music programs, athletics, etc, just not for an Aggie.

Texas LB was right..... SA Central loaded up Aggieland back in the mid-to-late 80's...

And, just like the Ags back then, we knew how to play football then as well....Not so much now.

It was by far the #1 choice then...

(D@mm you Fran!)
