1. I will be in Abilene this weekend visiting new found family. Where would be a good place to watch the game

2. Will be taking my niece to her first Aggie game ( heaven forbid in Lubbock) where are good / safe places to park..I have heard nightmares about vandalism , etc . I haven't been to a game in Lubbock since 1991 so I have no memory of the what ifs and where for art thous .

Thanks Ags !

Wanted you to have at least one response, even though I can't really offer any suggestions to either question.

Last time I was in Lubbock was the goal post game. We were in our motorhome in a dead shopping center lot north of the stadium. Not really sure of any known safe places.

There is an ABL Ag that posts here pretty often. I bet he sees this and will respond.

Good Luck.

Abilene has a Buffalo Wild Wings, that's probably the best place.

I think parking is free in the lots west of the United Spirit Arena.

Some of the business and churches sell parking passes on the other side of University Ave. That area of town was one of the worst, but has since been torn down and rebuilt much for the better.

They are already having to work all hours of the day or night to keep up.

Free parking available on campus in parking spaces marked Reserved: Monday-Friday. The closest place you can park for free on campus is south of the Broadway entrance. I like to get there early and park along 15th Street in M-F lots just south of Doak Hall and Doak Conference Center (DO and DCC on the map linked below

It's about a 10-minute walk from there to stadium (little over a half-mile, perhaps). My daughter is in the Tech band, so I go and watch the band practice and sometimes walk over with them.

Parking on campus in the Doak lot or the nearby Horn-Knapp dorm lot should be safe and easy. Right across the street there at 15th Street and University, the Methodist church has spaces for $5 or $10, I think.

Enjoy the game and good luck!
