My buddy shot this near Gail, on Monday. He was 300lb, 14 pt., and 22" inside measurement. We have not seen any mule deer bucks, ever, on this place. He got the deer of a lifetime.

What a gorgeous animal! I'll bet he is still on Cloud 9.

We're spending Christmas with the daughter and son-in-law in BS. I always look forward to the light show at Comanche Trail Park. Those poinsettias are some of the most beautiful lights ever. Think we might have snow?

We are the lighted poinsetta capital of Texas. I am not sure of our long term forcast for moisture. It depends on the Nino` effect in the Pacific.

Awesome deer. Which direction from Gail was this?

I am on a lease about 3 miles west of Fluvanna.
We saw some mule deer doe this year. Also saw a muley buck at a distance thru trees. Never got a good look, much less a shot at him.

South on 669, about 3 miles from the Howard-Borden line. We are close to the Vincent/Vealmore highway.

Obviously not a major player.
But signed up last year.
Enjoy the football & basketball reporting.

Maybe something like this monster mule deer will wander onto our lease some day. Probably the day after mule deer season ends.
