Hey guys and girls. Wife and I just moved to Abilene. We both are class of 06.

Anybody who lives here have any advice on Abilene living, eatery advice, or any Aggie gatherings, please let me know.

More 'O6ers A WHOOP! Aggie club meets first Wednesday each month at the Abilene Country Club off Treadway for lunch $12.

We've only been here about 6 months ourselves. Big change from Houston - which we have really enjoyed! Food is pretty sparse. If you like major chains your in luck!

Drive out to Buffalo Gap. Perinini Ranch steak for you, artsy fartsy stuff for her. And unless you weigh 400 lbs each, one steak ought to be enough for both.

Where are you living/working? I grew up in Abilene.

Perinis, Copper Creek, Cypress Street Restaurant and Brewery, Little Italy, Sharon Allen's BBQ, Taj Mahal, Middle East, Abuelos, New York Pizza, Heff's, Lucy's.....

Plus Mary's in Strawn, Mrs Allens, Big Boys BBQ in Sweetwater, The Cafe in Buffalo Gap, Bonterra Blu in Clyde are all within an hours drive...

Food is definitely not lacking in this area. If you feel you are stuck with chain restaurants, its your own fault.

I'm actually looking at moving back to Abilene..but need a job. Ya'll got anything for a Communications/Media Relations guy?

for restaurants, also try the Beehive downtown or the original in Albany.

Is Harold's BBQ still there? If so, give them a try.

Harold's closed earlier this year, he decided to retire.

Good luck finding a job in Abilene, Blacque.

Cypress Street Station - good food all around, good microbrews also, kinda pricey

Perini's - Awesome steaks and atmosphere

Deutchlanders (Buffalo Gap) - Great fish

Heffs - Awesome burgers

Lucy's - Again awesome burgers

Jo Jo's (potosi) - Decent BBQ.

Lytle Land and Cattle - Also a good steak place.

Also my wife and I live in Potosi. Would love to meet up with some fellow Ags. My work takes me outta town a lot but would love to meet some more Ag's. Feel free to contact me anytime about anything, will be more than happy to help.
