I work for a software vendor that develops back office management software for the O&G upstream industry. Basically our software has the capability to run an entire O&G Upstream operation. We have...

- Accounting & Financials
- Revenue distribution
- Imaging & Workflow
- Well Production including remote software for data entry in the field
- Land & Contract management
- Mapping
- DD&A and Fixed Assets
- Inventory & Material Transfers
- Audit & SOX
- Reporting - State, Federal, Financial, Partner, Drilling, Management etc... Plus we can build pretty much any type of custom report and provide the user tools to build them themselves if desired.

We currently have 50ish employees and 100+ E&P companies that have licensed our software. We are experiencing a significant amount of interest from new clients and need to grow the company to meet the demand.

Just got word that we are looking to add a few experienced people immediately. If you feel that you fit one of the below positions please send me an email (in my profile). If you have any questions feel free to email or post here.

Business Analyst - looking for several people. Need people with the following backgrounds...

1. O&G Accounting (LOS, G\L, Financial Statement, etc...)
2. O&G Land (Contracts, DOI, Obligations, etc...)
3. O&G Production Accounting (Field Data Capture, Allocations, Regulatory Reporting, etc...)
4. O&G Company IT

We need individuals with O&G experience and the ability to learn software and understand technology. Ideally looking for candidates with 10+ yrs experience. Previous experience working with one of our clients or a competitor is a plus.

Business Analyst wear a number of hats. They will have the opportunity to work on projects including new client implementations, technical training, software support, QA, custom reporting, requirements gathering, etc... Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication skills a must. SQL skills not a requirement but a huge plus. Individuals with solid SQL skills may also be considered for a different role on our conversion team.

SQL Guru \ .Net Developer - need individuals with HEAVY MS SQL Server experience. Need to be capable of handling a db with 1600+ tables and millions of records. No Oracle, TOAD or whatever just MS SQL.

There are a couple possible options for this type of candidate depending on your mix of SQL & .Net. Both opportunities require heavy SQL...

1. Conversion Specialists - This position requires little to no .Net experience but will need to be a strong MS SQL Server DBA. The primary responsibility of this position will be assisting with data conversions for new client implementations and acquisitions from existing client. There will also be other development projects as needed.
2. Developer - This position requires SQL and .Net experience. VB and C# .Net is extremely helpful. As a developer you could be placed in a couple of different roles depending on your level of experience\skill

For either position no length of experience is required but you must have SQL skills on par with a SQL Server DBA and ability to work with large data set with multiple joins.

We have offices in Houston, Dallas, Midland & Denver. The positions are available in any of those offices. There is a preference that the BA positions be located in Houston but location will not stop us from hiring a qualified candidate.

If you fit any of the criteria above I don't think they would have an issue with that.

I am a civil engineer in Midland.

So, while familiar with the terminology, I would be worthless on the short term with the company.

We have had several Texags submissions for these positions. I was told this morning that there were a few of those submissions that made the the 1st cut and will be asked to interview. If you weren't contacted you could still receive an interview on the next wave. Also, if you are still interested get contact me asap so we can get you in for consideration.

Couple quick notes...

1. We have not gotten many applicants with an O&G accounting background. The powers that be seem really interested in adding people with an accounting background. So if you have an accounting background and any O&G experience get something to me asap.

2. Just found out that in addition to accounting & land they are also looking for people with a production background. To make this easy, lets just open things up. If you have any O&G experience and an interest in working for a software vendor, feel free to hit me up.

I know there are a number or recruiters on Texags, so I spoke with my boss today regarding the use of a recruiting service. He is willing to work with recruiting services provided the financial terms are on par with a guy he works with in Denver. So if you have any candidates in Houston, Dallas, Midland or Denver that you think will work for us shoot me an email and we can discuss.

Updated the OP based on some of the interview feedback I saw. There are more positions available than I was originally told and we are still looking for some good fits.

Bump.

Hearing that we have or are going to offer one of the Texags applicants that I referred for the positions above. Not sure which one but we did snag one more Ag.
