One thing to remember: R-E-B-E-L-S....REBELS!!!

This is great sports area. You've got Midland Lee & Odessa Permian, Midland High is always very good in Baseball & Basketball, there is the Midland Rockhounds(AA team for Oakland A's). Odessa Jackalopes Hockey. The Odessa Roughnecks(arena leauge football) went undefeated until they lost in the championship game. Midland College is consistently a top 15 JC basketball team. Odessa College won the national chamionship in golf last year and MC is usually close. Midland Christian has won several state championships( fyi-they recruit from Lee,MHS, Permian, OHS, and Greenwood)
Greenwood and Midland High were a play away from winning state in football a couple of years ago.
A new drag strip is expected to open soon.

Yeh went down today, got the grand tour. That sports complex out East of town is something else. got lost on my way out, too, saw North Odessa. Good stuff.

Considering the complex is west of town I'd say you were plenty lost.

Hard to beleive that the investment in a compass is needed when you can see wherever you want to go!!!

Maybe they showed him around the stadium in Greenwood. It's really not that impressive, though.

By the way, my mom writes a column for the MRT. She's worked off and on for the paper since the 60's. Good luck. I hope you get the job. I'm wondering if the photo editor is still Tim Fisher. He's a really good guy.

Yeah, I meant west of town. If orienteering were my best attribute, I wouldn't be a sports writer.

If you get the job please do something with the MRT sports page. We love reading about the our Dawgs, Rebels, Mustangs, Rangers, Chargers, Knights, etc. etc.
Can you please do something about reporting on the Aggies. All you read about is Raiders and whorns, raiders and whorns.

Didn't get the job. But that's all on len Hayward, the sports editor.

I get the same deal out here about NMSU and UNM. It's probably all in your head.

Buy teh Odessa American. Looks more like I'll be working there in September anyway.
