I know there aren't to many there but does anyone have any recommendations?

Terry, this is not a recommendation because it has been a couple of years since I last stayed there but I was satisfied with the Ranch House Motel ... (clean, decent furnishings, good free breakfast at small inhouse restaurant ... but you know how those can change in a couple of years ... Paki management.)

All the decent motels are on the south feeder road to I-20 within blocks of the intersection with Hwy70S (South Lamar Street.) A Holiday Inn there was recommended to me by a relative but I did not check it out.)

I've actually stayed in the Ranch House. Good hotel. The food in the resturant is pretty good too. In-Laws live there, so we've been a few times. Ranch House or the Holiday Inn are good choices.

Thanks.

I wondered if the Ranch House was still operating. We used to go to Sunday lunch there when visiting the grandparents. Is that big painting of King Glo still hanging in the lobby?

We have five games in a row and Dad and Mom are going to have to stay out here between a couple of them. I'm trying to get them rooms and send them to Sweetwater for a few days. Dad will go nutzoid if he has to stay in Dallas for two weeks.

Does anyone know if the Ranch House has a website? I know I can check the Holiday Inn pretty easy.

Ranch House Motel is listed in the Yellow Pages on line ... 301 Southwest Georgia Ave, S'water.

It has been a couple of years since I was there but at that time there was a problem using the phone numbers on the web site (should have been corrected by now) ... something about changing ownership, etc. It took some time to get it worked out. If my memory of the event is correct this is a good number: 325-236-6341. That number should be good even if the motel has changed names. Also, there is a Ranch House Steak House located about 100 yards east of the motel and it is a good place to eat (that restaurant and the motel are not connected.)

Will do Goose, not sure yet when they're going out. Just too many games in a row for them to make that drive from Mississippi each weekend.
Dad hasn't been back to Sweetwater in years, he'll enjoy it.

Terry L, what is your connection to Jerry Bob Smith? I plan on dropping by his house tonight to visit him.

He and my Dad, DeltaAg51, are best friends, have been all through school. Played football together at Sweetwater High. Dad was born and raised in Sweetwater. Found out thru Texags that Goose's aunt is Dad's cousin. Small world.
