While we are on the subject of downtown eateries: in May we reported that Fort Griffin General Merchandise Restaurant & The Beehive Club owners Ali and Nariman Esfandiary purchased 10,000 square feet of the Pender Building, 442 Cedar St., and plan to open The Beehive by the end of October. They said construction is moving along, and they hope everything works out now so they can open by mid-November.
