Howdy Ags. I'm from Canyon and would like to find an internship for the summer back in the Panhandle. I'm a graduate student studying Agricultural Economics and plan on graduating in May 2008. I'm primarily interested in energy and the farm bill/subsidy program, however nearly every topic I've come across during my collegiate tenure has captured my attention. Thanks and Gig 'em. I work with farmers and ranchers on an individual basis on marketing and risk management plans. Basically, we create a disciplined marketing plan and then execute the marketing of crops/cattle for our producers thru the use of cash/forward contracting, futures, and options (used as little as possible). Our focus is mainly grain crops (corn, milo, wheat), cotton, soybeans, and cattle.

That was probably more than you care to hear about my work but I am enthusiastic about what I do each day!


I work with two other Ags with one of them being the owner. We've got a few offices around the state. It's very enjoyable but is can also be stressful depending on the markets.
